Gwyneth Paltrow's mother Blythe Danner reportedly pleaded with her daughter not to leave hubby Chris Martin.
A source told Us magazine that Danner is really upset that her daughter is splitting up with the Coldplay frontman because she absolutely adores him.
Danner begged her actress daughter not to end the marriage because he's a good man, but Paltrow had to do what she felt was best, the insider asserted.
The source added that the couple really tried to make it work, but something was wrong, though, over the last few months.
The couple recently announced their separation on the website Goop.com.
