Australia wicketkeeper-batsman Brad Haddin has opted to miss the fifth and final Ashes Test against England at the Oval due to family reasons, Cricket Australia have confirmed.

The 37-year-old, who played the first Test at Cardiff, had asked to be stood down for the second Test in order to be with his sick daughter and, therefore, Peter Nevill was roped in as his replacement.

However, Nevill was retained as Australia's wicketkeeper ahead of Brad Haddin in the third and fourth Ashes Test after the former performed brilliantly in the series-levelling Lord's Test victory.

According to the BBC, CA have not named Haddin's replacement in the squad yet.

Haddin, who has claimed 262 catches and eight stumpings in 66 Tests for Australia, was not expected to be recalled to the side for the final Test which starts from 20 August.
