Reigning Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton recovered from a shaky start and rain to win an exciting British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
Although Hamilton suffered a bad start by losing the lead off the line to both Williams vehicles, he had to wait until the first round of pit stops to reclaim the lead, the BBC reported.
However, the race turned out to be the best of the season when rain showers hit the track on lap 36. Nico Rosberg seemed to have benefitted from the downpour as he eclipsed both Williams in quick succession to close the gap on Hamilton.
Hamilton, who eventually beat Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel, extended his drivers' championship lead to 17.
Felipe Massa finished fourth ahead of Williams team-mate Valtteri Bottas.
