Mercedes ace Lewis Hamilton has reportedly indicated that he may take revenge on his teammate Nico Rosberg 'Senna-style' in the Monaco Grand Prix finale on Sunday.

This may be payback for the German's controversial pole-claiming performance in qualifying on Saturday, which came under considerable investigation before Rosberg was cleared of any wrongdoing in a move that clearly incensed the Briton.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the world championship leader, who claims to idolise late three-time Brazilian champion Ayrton Senna, suggested he might copy one of the moves of Senna, who had an infamous rivalry with Frenchman Alain Prost at McLaren.

However, the report mentioned that Hamilton made no direct reference to the infamous Japanese Grand Prix in 1990 when Senna forced the Frenchman off the track after their relationship had deteriorated beyond repair.

But Hamilton said that the relationship between him and Rosberg is 'essentially' like Senna and Prost's, adding that he is going to 'take a leaf out of Senna's book' and deal with the situation with Rosberg like the Brazilian did with Prost.

However, Rosberg said that he was 'surprised' that the race stewards had launched an investigation.
