Openers Tom Latham and Jeet Raval produced calm and composed performance as New Zealand reached 67 for no loss at stumps on Day Two of the third and the final Test against South Africa at Seddon Park on Sunday.

At the end of the day's play, Latham was unbeaten at 42 while Jeet Ravat remained not out on 25.

Earlier, resuming at yesterday's score of 123-4, Quinton de Kock struck a 90-run knock while Hashim Amla and skipper Faf du Plessis scored 50 and 53, respectively to guide South Africa to a first-innings score of 314.

For New Zealand, Matt Henry bagged four wickets while Neil Wagner and Colin de Grandhomme took three and two wickets respectively.

Mitchell Santner also chipped in with a wicket.

The match also saw Latham pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss du Plessis, who struck his 12th Test century.

As soon as Du Plessis bent forward to play the shot, Latham anticipated the shot and before the ball had even touch pitched, he set off and moved towards the keeper, and when Du Plessis connected, he stretched his hands, in anticipation that the ball will come to him.
