Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has said Formula One Champion Lewis Hamilton will bounce back from the disappointment of losing the Monaco Grand Prix last Sunday.

Hamilton, who was leading the race, eventually finished third after a strategic error was committed by Mercedes team.

Wolff said that Hamilton has the mental strength and was on a roll, the BBC has reported.

Hamilton was leading by more than 20 seconds when a late-race safety car led to a panicked decision by Mercedes to pit him for fresh tyres.

Hamilton's team-mate Nico Rosberg and Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel passed him as he rejoined the track.

Dejected after the race, Hamilton said that there was no one person to blame, adding that they are a team and they win and lose together.

Wolff said that it was a strategic mistake that resulted in an error in data which the team relied on to make such decisions.

He had also apologised to Hamilton.
