Bangalore Royal Challengers fast bowler Adam Milne has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League season with a hamstring injury.

The 24-year-old New Zealand pacer is believed to have picked up a Grade 2 hamstring tear in his right thigh and also failed to report for training on the eve of their match against Rising Pune Supergiants on Saturday, ESPNcricinfo reported.

Royal Challengers' bowling woes is likely to be further aggravated with the absence of Milne, who became the third overseas bowler the franchise has lost to injury after spinner Samuel Badree and pacer Mitchell Starc.

Milne, who was bought for Rs 70 lakh last year, has only played one match in the IPL since he joined forces with Royal Challengers. He was forced to miss the last season due to a heel injury.

Royal Challengers, who are currently languishing at seventh spot in the points table, are yet to find a replacement for him.
