Health Minister Satyendra Jain today cornered Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung in wake of the rising incidents of rape in the national capital and demanded that the Delhi Police must be handed over to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government.

"They must hand over the Delhi Police to us. We will be responsible for everything. Neither the Prime Minister nor the Home Minister has time to look after Delhi. Delhi's Home Minister and the Chief Minister have ample time to look after the city. In other states, the police reports to the state government and not the Centre," Jain told ANI.

"We demanded statehood, what happened to that? Even the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) demanded statehood and passed it in Vidhan Sabha in 2003 and now they are denying it," he added.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal earlier lashed out at Prime Minister Modi and the Lieutenant Governor over the deteriorating law and order situation in Delhi.

"Complete jungle raj in Del. LG/Modi ji failed miserably. What hv they done to control deteriorating law n order?" Kejriwal said.

"LG sahib/ Modi ji, pl do something. Ye delhi mein kya ho raha hai," he said in a series of tweets.

Three women were on Saturday found dead from a house in Delhi's Brahmpuri area. Reportedly, the police retrieved the bodies from a locked two-storey house.

Earlier on Friday, a three-and-a-half-year old girl was allegedly raped by an 11-year-old boy in Delhi's Mangolpuri area.
