Pharrell Williams has opened up about the on-going controversy surrounding 'Blurred Lines' saying that the criticism is "overblown".

Whilst dismissing all the allegations, the 41-year-old rapper said that he was not surprised because that's the way that media worked, the Independent reported.

The "Happy" singer continued that anything could be taken "out of context" and even though there were topless models in the music video.

He said that one should also read the lyrics of the song and he was not talking about portion rapper TI wrote.

Williams added that the last thing he would want to do was "degrade" as he loved women.
