Australian fast bowler Ryan Harris, who was forced to retire from international cricket after battering with injury, says that he is completely shattered calling off his sports career.
Harris said that he knew that this day was eventually coming in the next year but he was hoping to do it on his own terms, stuff.co.nz reported.
Harris, who had surgery on his right knee, last year, missed Australia's final warm-up game at Essex before the first Test against England.
He has been battling with injuries throughout his career and missed Australia's tour to the West Indies before their arrival in England.
The right arm quick has given his side a huge blow ahead of the first Ashes Test commencing in Cardiff from July 8.
Pat Cummins will be replacing him in the Australian line-up.
