Brit Filmmaker David Yates, who directed the final four films of the 'Harry Potter' series, is reportedly in final talks with Universal Pictures to helm the remake of crime flick 'Scarface'.

A source told Deadline website that the movie studio has been through a couple of drafts and now is very high on the current draft, Contactmusic reported.

The insider said that the first stop is the director and this is before any conversations on talent or timing.

The studio has made finding a director for the project its top priority after nailing down a script they are happy with.

Universal has been refining the script with several screenwriters and drafts while keeping all names and details under wraps.
