The Government of Haryana will honour persons or organizations who play a significant role in the effective implementation of the 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Abhiyan'.
As per reports, the honour would be accorded at the school and district level and the state government is setting up a Girls Platforms in schools which will spread awareness among people.
The 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign, which means 'Save the girl child, educate the girl child', aims to address the issue of declining Child Sex Ratio (CSR) through a mass campaign across the country targeted at changing societal mindsets and creating awareness about the criticality of the issue.
It is a major inter-ministerial initiative of the Central Government, bringing together ministries, institutions and civil societies in a rational effort to reverse the declining sex ratio.
