The Haryana Police on Wednesday assured of strict and rapid action on the murder a 19-year-old youth, who was named in the FIR as the alleged abductor in the savage rape and murder case of a 15-year-old Dalit girl from a village in Kurukshetra district.

The boy went missing from Jhansa village under mysterious circumstances on January 9. His body was found yesterday night from a canal near Jyotisar.

"We're investigating and scanning all CCTV cameras in the area. All people related to the case are being interrogated. After we receive Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report, we can make a further comment," R.C. Mishra, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Ambala Range told ANI.

"It's part of society. Such incidents have been taking place since forever. Role of police is to probe, nab criminal and prove things. We're leaving no stone unturned to do that. We must work to stop such incidents from recurring," he added.

Earlier in the day, one of the suspected accused in Jind rape and murder case was found dead in Kurukshetra, following which two Special Investigation Team (SITs) were constituted to trace the culprits and investigate the matter.

The 15-year-old girl, who was missing since last Tuesday after she left home for tuition classes, was found near a canal at Budha Khera village in Jind district's Safidon town.

Meanwhile, Kurukshetra Superintendent of Police (SP), Abhishek Garg told media, "On the complaint of the girl's parents, we were treating the youth as a suspect for kidnapping. His body was found yesterday night from a canal near Jyotisar. Though there were no visible injury marks, the postmortem will reveal the exact cause of his death".

Last week, the 15-year-old girl was brutally assaulted, her private parts mutilated and some of the vital organs ruptured.
