A day after Sakshi Malik hit out at Haryana government for not fulfilling its promises, state sports minister Anil Vij on Sunday cried foul claiming that they had created a post for the Rio Olympics bronze medallist in Maharshi Dayanand University on her request.
"We gave her 2.5 crore rupee cheque on the day she stepped here after winning the medal. She then said she wanted job in Maharshi Dayanand University but there was no such post. We created a post for her. Why is she doing so, I have no idea," Vij told ANI.
Vij further said the sports politics is bigger than the real politics.
Malik yesterday lashed out at Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel, Haryana's Sports Mnister Anil Vij and Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for not delivering on their promises made after her incredible feat in the Rio Olympics.
The BJP-led Haryana Government had announced a financial award of Rs 2.5 crores as well as a government job for Sakshi after her Rio feat.
The state government had also declared that she would be appointed the Wrestling Director at Maharshi Dayanand University in her native Rohtak.

Chief Minister Khattar had also announced Malik as the brand ambassador of the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' initiative in Haryana.
However, by the looks of it, it doesn't seem that the state government has delivered on their performance.
"Medal ka vada maine pura kiya, Haryana sarkar apna vada kab pura karegi? (I fulfilled my promise of winning an Olympic medal for the country, when will Haryana government fulfil its promise?)," tweeted Sakshi.
"Announcements made by Haryana Government after my OLYMPIC MEDAL win were for MEDIA ONLY ?.(2/2)@cmohry @anilvijminister @VijayGoelBJP," she added.. Sakshi become the first woman wrestler in India to win an Olympic medal with her bronze in the 58 kilogram freestyle event.
Defying all odds women athletes Sakshi Malik, silver medallist P.V.Sindhu and gymnast Dipa Karmakar saved India the blushes by performing superbly at this year's summer games.
