There has been an increase in the sex ratio in Haryana following the launch of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme, according to latest reports.
The number of females against 1000 males has now touched the figure of 900 in Panipat, which was 853 in 2013. The sex ratio in other districts in the state including Jind, Rohtak, Sonipat and Panipat has also improved considerably.
Haryana Chief Minister M.L. Khattar honoured the Deputy Commissioners of Panipat, Rohtak, Jind and Sonipat districts for considerable increase in number of females.
The Sukanya Samridhi Yojana, a scheme launched at Panipat to financially empower girl child and schemes like "Aapki Beti Hamari Beti", Rs 100 crore Haryana Kanya Kosh and "Haryana Kuposhan Mission" launched by the state government on women International Day have played a vital role to make the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign a success in the Haryana.
The postal department has opened around 1.5 lakh Kanya Samridhi Yojna accounts in Haryana.
