Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajnath Singh on Thursday asserted that the Central Parliamentary Board of the party is yet to take a decision on who will be its chief ministerial candidate for the Delhi Assembly elections.

"As far as the chief ministerial candidate and the prime ministerial candidates are concerned, only the Central Parliamentary Board can take a decision on this. And, regarding the Delhi CM candidate, no decision has been made so far," he said.

The BJP had on August 7 said it will announce its chief ministerial candidate "soon" for the Delhi assembly polls slated for November.

According to media reports, four-time MLA Harsh Vardhan is emerging as a frontrunner as the party's chief ministerial candidate, as the BJP is on the lookout for a new leader to head the party in the assembly elections, given the alleged negative feedback on current BJP Delhi unit chief Vijay Goel. Vardhan was Delhi's Health and Law Minister between 1993 and 1998.
