The heartbroken fans of Salman Khan took to twitter on Wednesday to express their sorrow at the guilty verdict
handed out to the superstar by a Mumbai sessions court.
"#Heartbroken.. Poor Sallu #SalmanVerdict," tweeted Preeti Ghelani, a fan.
"I know a gazillion underprivileged people who found help when they approached Being Human. The court needs to be fair. #SalmanVerdict,"
tweeted another fan Hamnah Asif Mistry.
Some other users, meanwhile, called for action against Salman's driver Ashok Singh, who had told the court in March that he was driving the
SUV which ran over the people sleeping on a pavement.
"Driver should be punished for misleading judges. #SalmanVerdict," said Rohit.
Another user Madhavan Narayanan wrote, "The conviction of Sanjay Dutt, Jayalalitha and Salman Khan show India is increasingly a modern
nation, with all equal before law #SalmanVerdict."
The other users, however, resorted to humor in the light of the verdict.
"If only Salman had @Uber_Mumbai back in the days.. #SalmanVerdict," joked a user named Ameya.
"The only thing that is worrying me more than #SalmanVerdict is what will Sohail and Arbaaz Khan do with their lives now," said another
user @Mufflerfan.
With twitterati in a flutter over the verdict, the hashtag #SalmanVerdict also began trending worldwide on the micro blogging site.
The actor was held guilty of all charges in the 2002 hit-and-run case by a sessions court in Mumbai today.
The judge told Salman that it had been proved that he was driving the car, which killed one person and injured four others. The quantum of punishment is currently being debated in the court.
