Heat wave claims 80 lives in Andhra

With temperatures hovering at around 47 degrees Celsius in the region, 80 people have reportedly died due to sunstroke in Andhra Pradesh.

According to reports, close to 200 people have lost their lives due to intense heat in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the last three days.

The state administrations has issued a warning to people against venturing out during the afternoons.

The worst victims of the heat wave are daily wage labourers and homeless people.

Krishna, Guntur, Nellore and Prakasam, West Godavari and East Godavari Districts of Andhra Pradesh are the worst affected regions.

The metrological department has reportedly stated that the intense heat wave conditions are going to prevail over next few days.
