Hyderabad is on alert following heavy rains in most parts of the city this afternoon.
The local authorities have asked the monsoon emergency teams and municipal officials to be available at ground level to resolve problems like water logging and failure in electricity supply among others.
Maredpally received maximum 3.1 cms of rainfall whereas Secunderabad received 2.9 cms, Himayatnagar 2.5cms and Amberpet received 2.4 cms this afternoon.
Met officials warned that heavy to very heavy rain is very likely to occur at several parts in and around Hyderabad for the next 48 hours.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner Janardhan Reddy has asked the officials at the ground level to remain alert.
Meanwhile, the night shelter facility will continue to operate at the community center at Alwal as about 10 residential colonies near Mothkunta lake, Kotha Cehruvu, and Chinnarayudu Cheruvu are still under threat of inundation.
