Aston Villa finally managed to seal a home win under manager Remi Garde as they defeated Crystal Palace 1-0 in the Premier League at Villa Park.
Palace had a great chance to take a lead when midfielder Wilfried Zaha hit a post in the 42nd minute of the match, but failed to do so.
It was in the 58th minute when goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey let defender Joleon Lescottto's header slipped through the hands to give Villa a 1-0 win over the visitors, the Guardian reported.
Despite the win, Aston Villa are currently languishing down at the bottom of the table, with just two wins from 21 games.
Villa will now play against second-placed Leicester City on January 16.
