The 'Honey, I Shrunk the Kids' star Rick Moranis chose to be a father rather than an actor, as he disappeared from the glamorous tinseltown world to raise his two children, shortly after his wife died of breast cancer.
In a podcast called Bullseye with Jesse Thorn, the 62-year-old actor said as a single parent it was very difficult for him to manage both his personal and professional life, thereupon he took a 'little break' from the movies, News.com.au reports.
The 'Strange Brew' added "little bit of a break turned into a longer break, and then I found that I really didn't miss it."
However, the actor, who seems to have no regrets about quitting, admitted that were certain things he missed about his life as a movie star.
"I missed the people and I missed the very refreshing nature of doing something radically different every day, he added.
Since the death of his wife, Moranis has retired from acting to devote time to his family.
