When Jake Gyllenhaal had a bone to pick with Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) as a kid, he wrote them a complaint letter in hopes of bringing back a particularly delicious menu item.

The 34-year-old actor said at the 'Demolition's' premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival that he wrote the letter after KFC took his favourite item off the menu, Us Magazine reports.

The 'Southpaw' star said that they were like little hamburgers but they were little fried chicken nuggets, adding that they had a name but he has forgotten the name.

He added that in school they were told to learn how to write a complaint letter and so, when the item was discontinued, he wrote a complaint letter to Kentucky Fried Chicken telling them to bring them back.

The item that Gyllenhaal was referencing is known as KFC's Chicken Little, which returned to the menu in 2012 after 20 years.
