New Zealand cricket team coach Mike Hesson has claimed that as a group they don't get carried away following their daunting win over Sri Lanka on Saturday in their Cricket World Cup opener, which prompted man of the match Corey Anderson to give them the 'juggernaut' tag.
New Zealand could hardly have wished for a better start in Christchurch, as they recorded a daunting win over Sri Lanka. Anderson claimed after the win that what they have begun is a juggernaut to keep rolling forward.
However, Hesson is not so keen on the juggernaut tag. But he agreed that it would be difficult to play down the expectation on the squad after such a start, which mirrored Australia's dominance over England in Melbourne, Stuff.co.nz reported.
Hesson claimed that he doesn't believe that they can fly under the radar, adding that they have performed well for a while and people have taken notice of that and if they keep performing well they would get some attention.
Hesson insisted that as a group they don't get carried away.
New Zealand would face Scotland at University Oval on Tuesday, before they face England on Friday, the report added.
