Highlights of Union Budget 2014 (Part-IV)

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday presented the Union Budget for fiscal 2014-15 in the Lok Sabha.

The highlights are as follows:

Government proposes to spend Rs.150 crores on new scheme to improve safety of women in big cities

Government to launch 'Beti Bacahao Beti Padahao Yojna' - Rs.100 allocation

Government to focus more on health sector and will set up institute of excellence

Government to set up national level institute for mental health to be set up

Shyama Prassad Mukherjee Rozgar mission to be launched

Rs.100 crore will be spent on virtual class rooms for online education

Five more IITs and 5 more IIMs will be set up.

 

. 15 new Braille presses to be established; 10 existing to be revived.
