In Himachal Pradesh, the situation in different banks after demonetisation has been brought almost under control now, as the ATM's are working and people are steadily withdrawing the newly minted 2000 Rupee notes.
However, some banks are facing shortage of small currency for which they have taken up the matter with Reserve Bank of India.
The state police is also on high alert and more than one crore rupees illegal cash has been seized by police during past few days in Mandi and Chamba districts.
State run helicopters are being used to take money to the tribal areas. The State Bank of India sent about Rupees nine crores of new and small currency from Shimla through state run helicopter to remote and tribal areas like Pooh in Kinnaur and Kaza in Lahaul-Spiti Districts yesterday.
The bank officials have also begun process to set up seven service provider centre in Kaza sub-division to facilitate local peoples.
The Punjab National Bank and some other banks have started micro ATM facilities in towns while Bank Correspondents are also distributing money in rural areas through these micro ATM's.
