A report has said that Islamist organization, Hizb-e-Islami Afghanistan (HIA) led by former Prime Minister Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, has dismissed all media reports claiming that the organization was considering joining the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

A Hizb-e-Islami commander, Mirwais, had earlier alleged that the group had some links with Daish members and that its leadership would announce its allegiance to them.

Hizb-e-Islami spokesperson Haroon Zarghoon however, denied the claim categorically by terming it "baseless" and also said that no one in the group recognized this self-acclaimed commander who had made the statement, reported The Express Tribune.

He also denied any links to a pamphlet distributed in the border regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan, in Peshawar district as well as in Afghan refugee camps that sought support for the ISIS.
