The Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) and Jan Chetna party today addressed a joint rally in Ambala after snapping ties with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls in Haryana.
Criticising the BJP for betraying its own members, HJC president Kuldeep Bishnoi said, "For three years we very honestly supported BJP despite knowing that the party's history has been of betrayal because we thought that they might change and we wanted to give a good and honest government to Haryana but we are disappointed that BJP's mentality didn't change in three years."
"The party which can betray its own members can't work honestly for the people. They make false claims of giving a good government. BJP can't give anything. It's a party of cheats," he added.
Appreciating Jan Chetna party's Venod Sharma, Bishnoi said that he has filled the space of a father in his life and he expects that his support will extend till the Assembly elections.
Bishnoi also added that HJC and Jan Chetna party will not only give an honest government to the people of Haryana, but will also work towards changing the state's image known for goons, criminals and disrespect towards women.
Earlier this week, the HJC party broke its three year old alliance with the BJP claiming that BJP has always cheated the regional party.
The elections for the 90-member Haryana Assembly are likely to be held before the end of October. The term of the present Assembly will also get over in the same month.
