Former Indian hockey player Ashok Dhyanchand on Sunday condemned the obscene gestures made by the Pakistani players after defeating India 3-4 in the Hero Champions Trophy semi-final yesterday.

"The way they have behaved is condemnable, it has never been seen before in sports. There must be some action on this. Their behavior is a disgrace to any nation," he told ANI.

Expressing similar thoughts, another former Indian hockey veteran Vinit Kumar said there was a way to express happiness on the field.

"Pakistani players got too excited, there is a way to express happiness of a win," said Kumar.

The Pakistani players had on Saturday celebrated their victory by taking off their shirts and making obscene gestures towards the spectators and the media, although their coach Shahnaz Shiekh was seen rebuking them.
