The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday alleged that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi does not know anything about the poor as he spends most of his time 'holidaying'.
"The Prime Minister is spending 24 hours a day thinking about the poor of the country. He launched the Skill India programme yesterday to help provide employment to the youth. On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi spends 24 days a month abroad, holidaying in exotic places and he knows nothing about the poor and their concerns," said BJP spokesperson G.V.L Narasimha Rao.
The Congress vice-president had while addressing the people of Hanumangarh in Rajasthan earlier said that his party would not let anyone take the land of the farmers without their consent.
"We will not let anyone take your land without your consent. The Congress Party belongs to the poor and the farmers, we are standing with you. Wherever the BJP comes to take away the rights of the poor, the Congress will stand like a wall to prevent it," he said.
