French President Francois Hollande has reportedly asked Prime Minister Manuel Valls to form a new government amid turmoil among top ministers.
The French President's Twitter account said that the new government will be announced on Tuesday, reported CNN.
The report said that tension spiked between the French President and Economy Minister Arnaud Montebourg when the latter called for a reorientation of the country's economic policy, a statement that was seen as a direct challenge to the authority of Hollande and Valls.
The French President said in a statement that he wants the new government "to be a team that is coherent with the course" that he himself has chosen for the country.
France's economy is currently moving at a slow pace and the rate of unemployment remains high.
While Hollande has received the worst approval ratings in comparison to all his predecessors, Valls' popularity has shown a decline in the recent opinion polls, the report added.
