Hong Kong's pro-democracy student protesters say that they are planning to visit Beijing and meet the Premier of the State Council of China Li Keqiang.
According to the BBC, it is uncertain whether the protesters would be allowed to enter.
The chief secretary has called on protesters to leave the key areas of Hong Kong which have been occupied for more than six weeks.
The secretary general of the Hong Kong Federation of Students Alex Chow has said that he planned to travel to Beijing on Saturday along with two other student leaders.
He said that the trip would show that the people of Hong Kong were not afraid of Beijing's manipulation.
Demonstrators are protesting against Beijing's decision to vet candidates in the 2017 Hong Kong elections. They have blocked parts of the city and have been demanding a fully free election.
