In a shocking incident of honour killing, a 15-year-old boy was killed on Saturday by a group of 11 men and his body was thrown in front of a local police station here.

Rahul, the identified victim, was allegedly beaten to death for being in a relationship with a girl who was older than him. According to locals, the perpetrators of the incident are allegedly 11 members from the girl's family.

"11 people have killed my son, they killed him with iron rods. They killed him because the girl forced him to run away. The boy was 15-years old and the girl is 18-years old, but she was the one who forced him to run," said the weeping mother of the victim.

The brother of the deceased said that Rahul had run away with the girl around midnight on July 17.

"On the 17th, around midnight, I got a call from one of my relatives telling me that he (Rahul) has come there with a girl. They also asked me if the girl's family knew that she was with him (Rahul). My brother was adamant that he would not take her. The girl said that if he did not take her along, she would cut her wrists. She even said that she would get him into trouble", said the victim's brother.

The boy's family has alleged that after the couple returned to the village, the girl's family beat Rahul to death.

Police sources have confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed and two people have been arrested in the case.
