I was the Foreign Minister of Pakistan and not the Interior Minister, how would I know whether Dawood was in Pakistan or not at that time, said former Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri in a response to a question from journalists here on Tuesday.
Emerging out of a meeting with thespian Dilip Kumar, Kasuri said, "I am not a spy, neither was I the head of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) or Intelligence Bureau (IB). I was the Foreign Minister."
Highlighting his contribution to the Indo-Pak relations, the former foreign minister said, "In the history of Indo-Pak relations, both the countries never came so closer when I was the Foreign Minister."
Speaking about his meeting with the ace actor, Kasuri said, "He is such a towering personality who can bring India and Pakistan closer."
"I am fortunate enough to gifted a copy of my book to Dilip Sahib, and he also gave me an autographed copy of his autobiography. His book will acquire a special place in my bookshelf," he added.
He appealed to meadipersons on both sides of the border not to rub salt on wound, but apply a balm for healing.
