Humera Ashique's hard work reportedly paid off, as she became the first women to get Pakistan a gold medal in Judo at an International event,
Ashique reportedly defeated a local athlete to clinch the 48kg event in the 2014 South Asian Judo Championship in Kathmandu, Express Tribune reported.
Humera said that she was tired of failing to win the ultimate title, but after many years of hard work she managed to win a gold medal, and feels relieved now.
She said that before leaving for Nepal she told her parents that she would succeed, performed sensibly in the game and outplayed very tough opponents to bag the top position, the report added.
