Hundreds in Hong Kong have reportedly taken to the streets to rally support for a veto of the government's electoral reform package, backed by Beijing, ahead of a crucial vote by lawmakers.
The pro-democracy activists marched to city government officials on Sunday, reported News24.
Beijing had agreed to hold direct election to elect Hong Kong's leader for the first time, but wanted to approve candidates who can run, a proposal that had been fiercely rejected by the masses.
The decision sparked widespread protests in the region that lasted for several months, with pro-democracy legislators pledging to veto any government proposals that fell short of "genuine" democracy.
The umbrella movement came to an end in December.
