An orphanage in Hyderabad's Uppal landed into soup after forcing children to clean the drainage.

The Agape orphanage came under radar after a child rights activists led by Balala Hakkula Sangham (BHS) brought the incident to the notice of the Rachakonda Police Commissioner.

About 50 children take shelter in the orphanage including HIV positive children.

The incident is seen as a case of severe violation and abuse of children.

Condemning the incident, BHS honorary president, Achyuta Rao demanded the arrest of the orphanage's owner while asserting that it was a child right violation.

"It is shameful and unfortunate. We condemn this. We want owner to be arrested. It is child right violation," Rao told ANI.
