World number three Andy Murray has insisted that he was not perfect and was trying to tone down the use of bad language on court.
Murray used Twitter to justify himself after he was criticised for his rage and colourful outbursts during his third round match against Nick Kyrgios in the French Open.
Murray tweeted that he tries to be a good role model, but added that this was one of his many failings. He said he was far from perfect, but does try hard to improve his behavior, Sport24 has reported.
He also tweeted that he does understand that kids watch the game and it was not good for them to hear but he found it hard to control his emotions.
Murray restricted his language to dark mutterings rather than crude expletives in his fourth round match against Jeremy Chardy.
He said that it was just unfortunate in tennis as it gets picked up a lot, insisting that he would rather not do it, but that, it was one of the mistakes he makes as a human being.
