I believe in good music whatever the genre is, says Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, who has been criticized by traditionalists for shying away from his qawwal origins, has revealed that he is adamant on growing as an artist, experimenting and trying out different projects.

The 'Tere Mast Mast Do Nain' hit maker recalled that he started singing "qawwali" at the age of 15 with his uncle Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, the Express Tribune reported.

Khan asserted that he had always wanted to grow as a professional and diversify.

Khan insisted that he believes in good music, from whatever genre it may be.
