West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday lashed out at the Centre for the raids conducted by the Income Tax department at the residence of Tamil Nadu's Chief Secretary P. Rama Mohan Rao, and called it "politically-motivated".

Attacking the Narendra Modi government over demonetisation issue, Banerjee said demonetisation is the biggest scam in the Indian history, courtesy Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and demanded investigations against the Prime Minister and the BJP government.
"Don't take political revenge; I want to say through this microphone to Narendra Modiji and all BJP workers that don't attack anyone, just arrest me and all your political revenge will be completed. I will say thousand times that I will speak for the people till the end of my life. I will see how further you can go," she said.
"Many governments came after independence, but never saw a government snatching everything from people, but this government is making everyone thief. I will say that this is the biggest scam in the Indian history under demonetisation," she added.
"If any state government officer is involved in corruption, then Central Government should inform the state, but they didn't do that. Even today, I saw they raided Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary's residence in unconstitutional way," she added.
