A day after England all-rounder, Moeen Ali, appeared in an international match wearing a wristband declaring his support for Gaza and Palestinians, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has stepped in to issue a warning.

A spokesperson for the apex governing body said on Tuesday that the ICC equipment and clothing regulations do not permit public display of any message related to politics, religion or race during an international match, reported News 24.

The ICC said that Ali has been warned by match referee David Boon but added that he will not face any disciplinary action on this occasion.

Ali wore wristbands that read "Save Gaza" and "Free Palestine" during the third Test match against India on Monday at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton for 42 minutes after which he was asked to take it down.
