ICSI announces centre of excellence in Kolkata

The Institute of Company secretaries of India (ICSI) will be launching their centre of excellence in Rajarhat, Kolkata.

The announcement was made during the celebration of their 48th CS Day in Kolkata. The Institute has bought 1.5 acres of land for the centre, which is scheduled to be completed within the next two years. They also announced that four lakh students have already registered for the course.

To mark the occasion of the 48th CS day, a mega programme was organized at Gorky Sadan Auditorium, Kolkata. Derek O'Brien, MP and Leader, All India Trinamool Congress Parliamentary Party, Rajya Sabha graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

 

On the occasion, President ICSI, Mamta Binani said, "Given the need for good Corporate Governance in today's corporate world, the future demand of company secretaries will only increase. The Institute and the profession have made steady advances in terms of recognition, multidisciplinary expertise and professional excellence and on this auspicious day ICSI re-dedicates itself to its professional values, achieve greater heights and prepare itself robustly for future challenges."

In the centre of excellence, the students will be trained on how to use their obligations more efficiently and effectively.
