One Direction's new single 'Drag Me Down' has not only topped the UK Singles chart but also created a new streaming record with 2.03 million streams in its opening week.

The new song, which was shot in NASA space centre, came as a surprise for fans and has marked the first single of the music band since Zayn Malik's exit, the BBC reported.

According to the Official Charts Company, Calvin Harris and Disciples 'How Deep Is Your Love' climbed to two from six while last week's number one, 'Black Magic by Little Mix', fell to three.

The top five was rounded off with Lost Frequencies 'Are You With Me' at four, and 'Years & Years at five.

In addition to this, the Indie band The Maccabees with lyrics 'Marks To Prove It', has notched their first number one album, just 1,300 copies ahead of Lianne La Havas' Blood.
