Idol not damaged, disrespected while removing temple in Powai: Police

The Mumbai police on Thursday said the idol was not damaged or disrespected in any way while removing a Temple in Powai.

The Mumbai Police said, "A temple in Powai has been removed in compliance with High Court orders, which had passed orders to relocate the idol after a series of litigations. The idol was not damaged or disrespected in any way."

In October last year, the Bombay High Court ordered demolition of illegal shrines that block pathways, streets.

The 8 ft X 10 ft Hanuman shrine in Powai was opposite to the main entrance of IIT-B.

Mumbai has nearly 700 places of worship on public space.
