Idris Elba has beaten Sir Malcolm Campbell's 90 years long world land speed record by achieving the speed of 180.361mph while shooting his new TV show.
The 'Luther' actor was shooting for his new show on Bentley Continental GT Speed in Pendine Sands, south Wales when he broke the record of 174.8mph set by Campbell in 1927 in his Napier-Campbell Blue Bird, the Mirror reported.
Elba said after setting new record that it was like an honor for him to have taken on the challenge, and to successfully follow in the footsteps of the illustrious of the "flying mile".
