Communications and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad questioned Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday over his consistent demand for assistance from the Centre, and said that if everything had to be done by the latter, what was he (Kumar) doing in the chief minister's chair.

"Today, Nitish Kumar is with the Congress and with Laluji. That is why I feel it's very important to ask him this question, on March 2012, in Manmohan Singh's governance , why was the Bihar Governments plea of special category status was rejected by the inter ministerial group?" he added.

Prasad said that Nitish Kumar is not worried about the development of Bihar but indulging in the politics of package.

"Before asking questions of the BJP, Arun Jaitley and Narendra Modi, ask questions to Sonia Gandhi as to why the plea was rejected," Prasad said.

Criticising Nitish Kumar's announcement of Rs 2.70 lakh crore for development activities in the state, Prasad said "The interesting part of his announcement is that he has not clarified where from the money will come.
