Few supporters who applied for tickets for Danish club FC Copenhagen's Champions League games had their applications cancelled for security reasons because they decided not to sell home match tickets to any fans with 'non-Danish' sounding names.

According to metro.co.uk, supporters have been angered by the club's stance, with some accusing Copenhagen of discrimination, but club secretary Daniel Rommedahl insists true Copenhagen fans need not worry.

He said that safety was always the main concern when it comes to events at Parken and therefore, they had to make every effort to ensure that fans of their guests only have access to the away section.

He added that the club was fully aware that the decision would cause a reaction, but it was the best solution, adding that if a dialogue with the customer shows Danish names, the purchase will be approved.
