The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore announces a new digital learning initiative - Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) based online certificate series - titled 'Fundamentals of Business Management.'

This online programme aims to equip learners with basic business and management skills needed to compete in today's business landscape. The course series will include the following six business and management MOOCs: Introduction to People Management, Introduction to Operations Management, Introduction to Accounting - 1, Introduction to Corporate Finance, Introduction to Business Strategy and Introduction to Marketing Essentials.
IIM Bangalore is among the first few management schools in the world to offer such a MOOC-based series of six core management courses.

These MOOCs will be delivered through the edX platform over the next few months and will offer learners the opportunity to study management concepts from highly rated IIM faculty in a completely open, online mode.

To increase the reach of these courses IIMB will also make these courses available in Hindi. Highlighting the constant innovation that IIMB and edX are jointly nurturing in Indian and global higher education, edX CEO and MIT Professor Dr. Anant Agarwal said: "We are pleased to launch IIMB's Fundamentals of Business Management XSeries program on edX. Our learners have told us that business and management courses are some of the most in-demand subjects they seek to leverage edX MOOCs for increasing the skills and knowledge so central to succeeding in their careers. Through this online programme, IIMB aims to empower thousands of learners with the competencies to take effective management decisions. All six MOOCs are open for enrollment and will be offered in a sequential manner over the next several months.
