The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Friday issued yet another summons to Goa's former chief minister and Congress leader Digambar Kamat in the mining scam case of 2013.
Superintendent of police Crime Branch Priyanka Kashyap says that he (Kamat) has been asked to report before the investigation officer on Monday.
In July 2013, a complaint was filed by the Mines and Geology Department in seeking to fix criminal liability on those involved in the illegal mining case.
Earlier, a report of retired Justice M.B. Shah Commission had stated that illegal mining of approximately Rs 35,000 crore took place in Goa from 2005 to 2012, when the apex court banned iron ore extraction in the state.
