Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif assured India's High Commissioner T.C.A. Raghavan here on Wednesday that it is a matter of top priority for his government to improve ties with New Delhi.

Sharif conveyed this significant message when Raghavan called on him at the Prime Minister's House here.

According to a Geo News report, Sharif is also said to have told Raghavan that Pakistan and India should institutionalise meetings between their respective national security advisors to discuss matters related to terrorism.

He said this would reduce concerns on both sides.

He also said that the existing mechanism of LoC meetings needs to be further strengthened.

Bilateral ties between India and Pakistan and other matters of mutual interest were discussed in the meeting, Geo News reports.
