Incessant rain unleashed many parts of coastal, north and south Odisha as a well marked low pressure over North Bay of Bengal and the neighbourhood intensified into a depression.

Under its influence, heavy rain is continuing at most places of the state since last evening.

The Met department said rain or thundershower is likely to occur at many places over north and south Odisha during the next 24 hours, adding that gusty surface wind with speed reaching 45 to 55 km per hour with a maximum of 65 km per hour will prevail along and off the Odisha coast.

Districts like Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Ganjam, Gajapati and Deogarh will have more rain.

It also advised fishermen to be cautious while venturing into sea in Odisha coast as the sea condition would be moderate to rough and height of sea waves might increase up to three to four meters.
